Dylan is 4!

It is so hard to believe that my baby is 4!  Where does the time go?  Time just keeps flying by faster and faster.  I love this age.  I think I say that about every age, but it just keeps getting better.  I love the social interaction with Dylan now, along with the conversations, the pretend play and games.

Other parents have said the attitude sets in at 4 along with the independence and a whole host of other things.  I can attest that we have plenty of attitude around this house and sometimes it's great and sometimes it's not.  But each day is an adventure.  I never know what Dylan will say or do and it keeps me guessing.  As much as I miss Dylan being a baby at times, I'm a mom who loves to see my boy thriving on his own and gaining more independence each day.  I'm loving hearing his thoughts and ideas and big dreams even though I can't always follow his logic.  I'm so proud and thankful for all of Dylan.  I don't know how I could love him more.

We started out the birthday boy's morning combining two of his favorite things - pirates and Toy Story.  We'd be having a pirate theme party in the afternoon and Dylan went to bed the night prior geared up for it in some of his favorite pajamas.  When he came downstairs in the morning, we had a Toy Story birthday cake waiting for him.  When we had kids, we started a new tradition - you can have cake for breakfast on your birthday.

Dylan was so excited about his Toy Story cake!

Happy Birthday to my sweet Dylan!  Looking forward to many, many more!
Happy 4th!  I love you!
