STRIKE!!!!

Now that the summer is coming to an end, so is my pneumonia.  I'm trying to take it easy and make the most of the few weeks of summer that we have left.  The kids and I are all ready to venture out of the house and try something new.

Meet Haley and Nicholaus.  Haley is a friend of mine from MOPS and Nicholaus and Zoe are in MOPPETS together and we think they secretly have a crush on each other.  But beware, because if you call Nicholaus "Zoe's friend" Dylan will quickly tell you that Nicholaus is his friend too.

Haley and I decided today to give bowling a try with the kids.  We weren't sure how the kids would like it, but we felt like it was worth a try as it was something new and different.  The kids LOVED it!  The bowling alley staff set us up a lane with the bumpers and some contraption which allowed the kids to put the ball on the top and roll it down.  This worked so much better than the old granny rolls we used to do.

But before bowling could begin, the kids had to pick out their bowling balls.

The smallest balls were 7 pounds.  The ball is almost as big as Zoe.

Dylan picked out an 8lb pink ball.

Nicholaus picked out a gold ball like Zoe's.  He is sitting patiently waiting for his turn.

The kids were ready to bowl and did a fairly good job of taking turns with the help of their mommies.  Look out, pro bowlers, here comes Dylan, Nicholaus and Zoe!

Dylan proud of his first roll!

Dylan coming to retrieve his ball before going again.

Dylan scores a STRIKE!!!!  Haley is showing him how to make an "X" with his arms to show he made a strike.

Check out Nicholaus sporting those bowling shoes!

The balls got heavier to the kids as the game went along.  Dylan decided to give up his pink ball and go with one of the 7lb gold ones.

Check out that form!

Dylan running to retrieve his ball for his next turn.

Nicholaus sitting on the floor again waiting for his turn.

By the end of the game, Zoe couldn't lift her ball anymore.  So she rolled it across the floor to the lane.

Pretty Bowler!

And the kids are all ready to go again!
